Description
Students who have attended our previous courses know that we like to go in-depth on all the technology we work with, so to meet this need we developed courses in a large series, and this series of courses helps students not only understand the technology itself, but also confidently implement it in their company, prepare and conduct interviews, and update their skills.
This SQL series consists of 3 courses with over 30 hours of intensive training. These courses are as follows:
Course 11: SQL Server 2019 Windows Server 2019 & Error Traversing Cluster.
Course 12: SQL Server 2019 Linux & Azure.
Course 13: SQL Server 2019 Administration.
Course Plan:
Before going through the course outline, we would like to add that the network and infrastructure used in this course was created in our Course 1: Windows Server 2019 Network Configuration – Microsoft series where we created a virtual environment for all the available courses created so far.
Why did we do this?
Simply because we don’t want to waste your time creating the source VM, network adapters, router and other infrastructure again and again. We want to give you REAL-TIME industry experience by integrating different technologies into a BIG NETWORK and this will enable students to apply computer and technology skills to learning and troubleshooting.
Now let’s discuss the course plan in detail.
This is a SQL Fundamentals for Beginners course consisting of theories and LABS.
This course is divided into 4 parts:
Segment 1: Prepare your network to install SQL SERVER 2019 on Windows Server 2019
From Sections 1 to 4, you will learn about
– New features in SQL Server 2019
– Understanding the prerequisites for deploying SQL Server 2019 on an existing network that we created together in Course 1: Windows Server 2019 Network Configuration – Microsoft Series
– First installed instance of single SQL Server 2019, SQL Server Management Studio 18
– Performing remote access and creating snapshots.
Segment 2: Sorting the basics by advanced topics
From Chapters 5 to 9, this segment will teach you the basics of databases. To better manage the product, as an administrator you must understand all the terms related to databases. We will learn the basics of the following topics:
Module 1: Introduction to Databases introduces basic database concepts in the context of SQL Server 2019
Module 2: “Data Modeling” describes a number of data modeling techniques.
Module 3: “Normalization” introduces the concept of normalization and describes normalization and denormalization techniques.
Module 4: Relationships describes the different types of relationships and their impact on database design.
Module 5: Performance describes the impact of database design on performance.
Module 6: “Database Objects” introduces the most commonly used database objects.
**Expect some theory which may be a bit boring.
Segment 3: We will do hands-on work on LAB workloads and loads
Chapter 10 is very interesting because we have prepared a LABS (project) for you to practice all the concepts we learned together in segment 2.
Segment 4: SQL Server 2019 Clustering Failure
Starting from Chapter 11, we will do the following LABS
A- Create Domain Service Accounts
B: Deploy First SQL Server 2019 Failover Cluster Instance
C: Deploy Second Failover on a SQL Server 2019 Cluster Instance
D: Verify the Reliability of the SQL Server 2019 Cluster.
E. Migrate Database from a Single SQL Server 2019 to SQL Server 2019 Cluster for High Availability.
After completing this course, you will be prepared and ready to take on the next course 12: SQL Server 2019 on Linux and Linux.Azure.
